Hello – Lionel Richie

The music video for Lionel Richie’s “Hello” directed by Bob Giraldi tells the story of a music teacher (played by Lionel Richie) who falls in love with his blind student. I really love this song, and especially lately, can’t get it out of my head… so I am not criticizing when I say this, exactly… but seriously, what’s up with the blind student sculpting a perfect bust of Lionel Ritchie’s head? Was that really needed? I say it was not. But, what’s done is done, and it’s a heartbreaking, beautiful song. Right up until the part where I get distracted thinking, ‘wait a minute, how could they expect us to believe that she could even do that’… and then I’m off on a tangent.
